Overcoming fear mindfully – 5 lessons from Hogwarts

Overcoming fear is no magic. However, there is a deep truth in what you can read in the Harry Potter stories. Unless fear arises from an immediate, physical danger, our automatic reactions are no big help. Fight, flight or freeze impulses rather worsen the situation. Mindfulness on the other hand helps a lot. It can work like a fear-dispelling charm like „ridicculus“ and it can create something like a „patronus“. This podcast shows how. If you want to practice, make use of mindfulness meditation which is available online, two are listed here:

Follow some mindfulness meditation to stabilize your mind and get closer to “creating a patronus”:

Hi there! This post could not be written any better! Reading through this post reminds me of my previous room mate!

He always kept talking about this. I will forward this write-up to him.
Fairly certain he will have a good read. Many thanks for sharing!

    Hey very interesting blog!

Can I simply say what a comfort to uncover someone that actually knows what they are talking about on the net.

You definitely know how to bring a problem to light and make it important.
More and more people should look at this and understand this side of the story.

I was surprised that you’re not more popular given that you definitely possess
    the gift. asmr 0mniartist

Wow, Omniartist, I saw your other comment first. Thanks for the praise. I guess I „say“ too little on the internet. Might change that over the next months as I left the company I was working for and take a chance at working as a free lance coach. Also I did most of my stuff in German. Watch out for a few more podcasts which I will translate soon into English. It is a little series called „good question“. Like „Good question: Why is it that of most true answers the opposite is true as well?“ or „Good question: How can I reduce mega stress to just a handful?“ or „Good question: When will this waiting end?“
PS: in which line of work would I find you? Really arts? Theresia

Today, I went to the beach with my kids.

I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said „You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.“ She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but
I had to tell someone! asmr 0mniartist

Dear Omniartist 🙂 That is quite a story. So – how are you planning to help your kid overcoming HER fear now?. Theresia
